Frequently asked questions
Does FARAGHA ever see my M-PESA balance?
No. Parsing and receipt generation happen entirely on your device. There's no server that receives your messages, balance, or generated receipts — FARAGHA has no backend for this at all.
What if I lose my phone?
Use the built-in Backup & Restore feature to save a file with all your receipts and tags — saved wherever you choose (your own Drive, email, WhatsApp-to-self), never to our servers. Restore it on any device to get everything back.
Is FARAGHA really free?
Yes — every feature, for everyone: business name on receipts, tagging, group reports, backup and restore. There is no subscription, no trial and no account. We previously planned a paid Business tier; it was dropped and everything it included is now free.
How can I support FARAGHA?
Totally optional: use the Buy me a coffee option to send any amount over M-PESA (Ksh 50 is a coffee). It unlocks nothing and isn't refundable. Telling the treasurer in your next group about FARAGHA helps just as much.
Does tagging work on money I sent, or only money I received?
Tagging is specifically for received contributions — money coming in — since that's the actual use case: tracking who has paid into a group fund.
Can I use FARAGHA on iPhone?
Yes, with one difference from Android: you can't share an SMS directly into the app (copy-paste instead). Generating and sharing receipts works identically on both.
