Frequently asked questions
Does FARAGHA ever see my M-PESA balance?
No. Parsing and receipt generation happen entirely on your device. There's no server that receives your messages, balance, or generated receipts — the free version of the app has no backend for this at all.
What if I lose my phone?
Use the built-in Backup & Restore feature to save a file with all your receipts, tags, and your license — saved wherever you choose (your own Drive, email, WhatsApp-to-self), never to our servers. Restore it on any device to get everything back.
What happens if I stop paying for Business tier?
FARAGHA reverts to the free tier automatically. Your tags and receipt history aren't deleted — they're simply inaccessible until you renew.
Is the Ksh 100/month subscription automatic?
No. M-Pesa doesn't support automatic recurring billing, so each month you'll get a renewal prompt and pay via M-Pesa STK Push — the same one-tap PIN-entry flow as the first time you subscribed.
Does tagging work on money I sent, or only money I received?
Tagging is specifically for received contributions — money coming in — since that's the actual use case: tracking who has paid into a group fund.
Can I use FARAGHA on iPhone?
Yes, with one difference from Android: you can't share an SMS directly into the app (copy-paste instead). Generating and sharing receipts works identically on both.
